“Make brushing more fun with Minions!”

It is fun to be a kid. All you do is eat play and sleep throughout the day. When I was a kid, I have two big problem. One is, why does the Mr. Moon always come to take the shift of Mr. Sun? It means that playtime is over, and we need to sleep again so we can start another day.  The other one is when my tooth hurts so bad after eating my favorite gum and candy.

Kids hate going to the Dentist because we fear that they will use a big needle to extract the affected tooth. My dad always told me to brush my teeth to avoid those kinds of situations. In my generation, we don't have that cool toothbrush neither that flavored toothpaste to make it more fun to brush my teeth.

Despicable Me 3  is two weeks away from its opening date and Colgate introduces the newest Colgate’s Minions toothbrush and Minions toothpaste. These will surely make your kids excited to brush their teeth after meals. It will also help them to prevent tooth decay and strengthen while having fun. I would love to have one of these because it not only looks cool, but also I love collecting Minion characters.

Wondering where you can purchase this adorable set? Well check out the links and you can order it online and receive it on the front of your doorsteps.

Baywatch: Movie Review

By: Matt Suzara

Matt Brody (Zac Efron) is a former Olympic swimmer who holds two gold medals under his name and because of a puking incident on national television; he ends up forcing his way to join a group of lifeguards led by Mitch Buchannon (Dwayne Johnson). Brody thinks that his elite status can easily earn him a spot on the team, but Mitch doesn't give a crap about his medals. However, Mitch decided to give Brody a chance and needs to prove his worth. But as the problem with drugs continues, Mitch and Brody must learn to co-exist to fight and prevent these illegal activities on their shore.

I was just a kid when this TV series started to roll and all I can remember is the hot girls in their bikinis running in a slow motion. I can't really tell the difference between the film and the series, but I assure you that this film will make you laugh hard and enjoy every minute of it. The movie got a very disappointing grade from the critics abroad, and I can't help myself from wondering why?

We attended the advance screening preview of the film last night and based on the reactions and laughs we've heard for past two hours; the film didn't fail to bring the comedy and entertainment factor that every moviegoer deserves. The jokes were extremely funny, the story was simple, and the casts were just the perfect choice for the new generation of Baywatch not mentioning some of the cameos from the original series.

A movie with Dwayne Johnson in it can't go wrong nowadays. He is just capable of doing anything, especially when it comes to action or comedy. Zac Efron, on the other hand, isn't new to this genre and basically walks right through it and delivers everything on a silver platter. The two shows an energetic chemistry that made this film funny and remarkable at the same time. The supporting cast also did shine in their own way with the beautiful Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach and Ilfenesh Hadera representing the gorgeous babes taking us back too the 90s plus the very reliable Jon Bass who adds more comedy power to the already awesome list of stars.

Overall, Baywatch is one of the best comedy films I've watched this year. The Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron connection is really impressive. The whole film entertained the hell out of me and please disregard every negative review so you can watch first before making a judgement if the movie sucks or not. But for me, this film is a good example why I love to watch movies on the big screen.

Amandla Sternberg From “HUNGER GAMES” to  “EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING”

She first gained recognition for her role as Rue in “The Hunger Games,” alongside Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson. Now, teen star Amandla Sternberg stars as Maddy in in Warner Bros. Pictures' new romantic drama Everything, Everything (in Philippine cinemas June 21, 2017).

Based on the bestselling book of the same name by Nicola Yoon, Everything, Everything tells the unlikely love story of Maddy (Sternberg), a smart, curious and imaginative 18-year-old who due to an illness cannot leave the protection of the hermetically sealed environment within her house, and Olly (Nick Robinson), the boy next door who won’t let that stop them. Gazing through windows and talking only through texts, Maddy and Olly form a deep bond that leads them to risk everything to be together…even if it means losing everything.

Amandla Stenberg is huge fan of the book and the script—adding, “I was immediately drawn to the whimsy and the quirkiness of the story and the real life, tangible emotional aspects of it that I could connect to, especially as a teenager. I also loved that this beautiful and meaningful teen romance movie involved seeing an interracial couple in a completely subliminal way.”

Producer Elysa Dutton notes, “I think this urgency for love really resonates for people, especially at the age these characters are. First love is so exciting, and for Maddy, she’s missed a lot of firsts so she’s not going to miss this. Even though she knows this is potentially a life-threatening decision, there’s no choice for her but to take this risk, to really live.”

Both Sternberg and Robinson enjoyed the process of exploring this unusual and often awkward first love relationship—finding the normalcy within its inherent irregularities.

I had never met Amandla before this film but I’d heard only great things, so I was really excited to work with her,” Robinson recalls. “She’s just a really cool person and I had a great time getting to know her.”

Both Amandla and Nick were fantastic,” director Stella Meghie states. “Amandla is just angelic,” she continues. “Like Maddy, she’s intelligent and mature, and also romantic, and she definitely brought those sensibilities to the character. My main goal was to make sure that people would believe these two characters fall in love, and Amandla and Nick really clicked from the start. Their chemistry was just so natural and I think that shows in the film.”

H'WOOD WALK OF FAME Honors “TRANSFORMERS” Director Michael Bay

LOS ANGELES – Michael Bay received one of the highest honours in Hollywood: his handprints in the Walk of Fame.

Bay sank his hands and feet into the forecourt of Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theatre recently as he was honored for a money-spinning movie career that has netted almost $6 billion.

The 52-year-old Los Angeles native is known for directing some of history’s biggest effects-laden blockbusters, from “Bad Boys” (1995), “Armageddon” (1998) and “Pearl Harbor” (2001) to the “Transformers” franchise, whose fifth installment, “Transformers: The Last Knight” opens in the US and the Philippines on June 21, 2017.

It brings back your childhood because I remember as a kid I came here. And this is where I went to the movies with my parents, this was the place where I saw ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark,’ when I decided I want to become a director,” he told Agence France Presse.

Bay, who now calls Miami home, worked as an intern for George Lucas’s special effects company Industrial Light and Magic before kickstarting his directing career with commercials and music videos for Tina Turner, Lionel Richie and Meat Loaf.

His first feature film — “Bad Boys,” starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence — marked the beginning of a string of collaborations between Bay and veteran producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

It’s bizarre as a kid to think, this was always untouchable to me, you know,” he said of being honored by Hollywood.

You don’t ever think that’s possible, so it’s kind of a bizarre thing having your hands printed here.”

Known for high octane action, Bay’s movies have made $5.8 billion, allowing him to indulge a passion for aviation and motoring, according to Rolling Stone magazine, snapping up a $50 million Gulfstream jet and a fleet of luxury and sports cars.

ABOUT “TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT”

The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock).

There comes a moment in everyone’s life when we are called upon to make a difference. In Transformers: The Last Knight, the hunted will become heroes. Heroes will become villains. Only one world will survive: theirs, or ours.

Transformers: The Last Knight is distributed by United International Pictures through Columbia Pictures.

The Undead and Her Prey Meet  “THE MUMMY” Characters

A badass female mummy, a down-on-his-his-luck soldier of fortune and and engimatic doctor lead the mysterious characters in Universal Pictures' new action-adventure The Mummy (in Philippine cinemas on June 7. 2017).

Nick Morton (Tom Cruise) is a soldier of fortune who plunders conflict sites for timeless artifacts…ones he sells to the highest bidder. When Nick and his No. 2 (Chris Vail) are attacked by insurgents in the Middle East, in the ensuing battle, they accidentally unearth a tomb of an Egyptian pharaoh they come to know as Ahmanet. Nick is not simply the one responsible for setting Ahmanet free, he’s fulfilling an ordained destiny he couldn’t have possibly imagined. Now, he is the only one who can stop her ascension to a global ruler who will enslave humanity.

Ahmanet (Sofia Boutella). Centuries ago, Ahmanet was raised as a fearless warrior and heir to her father’s throne. She was destined to be the first female pharaoh, but when the king finally fathered a son, Ahmanet was cast aside. Driven mad by betrayal, she was entombed for eternity by the very people who swore loyalty to her. Her fate? Erasure from history. Accidentally awoken by Nick Morton, this original and extraordinarily powerful monster sets out to reclaim her stolen kingdom and ascend to her rightful place as pharaoh. With her evolving powers, the strange and seductive Ahmanet forges an unbreakable connection with Nick, and in so doing, intertwines their destinies.

Jenny Halsey (Annabelle Wallis) is a British officer of Cultural Heritage, who is enlisted by Nick to unearth the sarcophagus for transport. The Egyptologist’s own mother was long certain that there was a female pharaoh who’d been erased from history. Now, Jenny has finally found the princess she heard of only in myth and legend. When Jenny, Nick and Vail rappel down to an antechamber unearthed by human war, they unleash Princess Ahmanet, accidentally setting off a series of otherworldly phenomena.

The enigmatic Dr. Henry Jekyll (Russell Crowe) oversees Prodigium, a secret organization with a mandate to recognize, examine, contain and destroy evil in our world. A scholarly English gentlemen grounded in the modern day, he not only protects the world from monsters, he protects monsters from the world. Is Jekyll a friend or foe? Like all our principal characters, it depends upon your perspective, and their end game…

Chris Vail (Jake Johnson). Although Vail likes to think of himself as a “liberator of precious antiques,” others prefer the term “modern-day grave robber.” While Nick is into the adventure as much as he is the adrenaline rush, Vail has no qualms about admitting he’s only in it for the money. Vail and Nick have been partners in crime for years, but nothing could prepare them for the evil they have awakened.

Col. Greenway (Courtney B. Vance). A career military man tasked with ensuring U.S. military operations in the Middle East go by the book, Greenway embodies “steadfast.” When he discovers the chaos Nick and Vail have caused, he hauls them in for questioning. Once Ahmanet rises, however, the colonel—and all of humanity—must rely on Nick as he leads our struggle for survival.

The Mummy is distributed by United International Pictures through Columbia Pictures.

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, raised on a sheltered island paradise and trained to be an unconquerable warrior. When an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

Patty Jenkins directed the film from a screenplay by Allan Heinberg, story by Zack Snyder & Allan Heinberg and Jason Fuchs, based on characters from DC. Wonder Woman was created by William Moulton Marston.

Diana is set apart from most comic book superheroes by her gender, but it’s her approach to justice that I believe really makes her unique,” Gal Gadot claims. “She not only wants to rid the world of evil by taking out the bad guys, she also wants to encourage men and women to be the best human beings they can be, and she does this through love, hope and grace.”

Patty Jenkins agrees, further stating, “If only we could all see the world the way Diana does. She sees the great darkness, but also looks beyond that to what mankind is capable of: great beauty. She also has the powers of a god, a heart filled with compassion, and we wanted to give her a rich and layered and fun story to tell that everyone can connect with. It’s just a great adventure that I hope fans—old and new—will love!”

Opening across the Philippines on Thursday, June 01, “Wonder Woman” is distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Sleepless: Movie Review

By: Matt Suzara

Gem (Glaiza De Castro) works for a call center company who really had a hard time sleeping because of her different shifts. Being one of the top performers in their company, Gem is assigned to train the newly hired Barry (Dominic Rocco.) At first, Barry is struggling to make sales but after a few techniques taught to him by Gem, he made some sales and easily adapts to the industry. As the days passed, the two interacted well with each other as they share the same apartment building and both had a hard time to get some sleep. They soon find the comfort they seek but try to figure out how to solve the problems they have aside from how to survive a zombie apocalypse.

The Cinelokal project offers a chance for the movie patrons to experience a lot of worthy films in a very reasonable price. For this week, they offer Prime Cruz's Sleepless, which stars Glaiza De Castro and Dominic Rocco. The gala-screening was filled with excited fans to see the film again on the big screen together with the lead stars and some celebrity guests.

Sleepless is a majestic film that doesn't force anything. It involves two people who just want to hang out together and share the same thing that they would both enjoy. It's about having stupid conversations that sometimes don't make sense, but still it will definitely get your attention right from the get go. Another great thing about it is the simplicity of it carried by the terrific performances of its lead stars.

Glaiza De Castro and Dominic Rocco really brought the film to life. They acted naturally and sold us that their story is not only for the big screen, but it also happens in real life. They are just fun to watch as they had a great on screen chemistry compliments the entire film.

The visuals were also a factor in adding depth to the film's already beautiful cinematography. I love the fact that they didn't go to a familiar territory and made it look predictable in the end. It will leave you hooked to the story and can't really guess what will happen to our lead characters.

Overall, Sleepless is a well-acted simplistic film that is definitely worthy to be seen again and again on the big screen. It will have its limited run this week in selected SM Cinemas so you better free up some of the load on your busy schedule and watch Sleepless this week.

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 8 out of 10 stars

Cast: Glaiza De Castro, Dominic Rocco, TJ Trinidad

Directed by: Prime Cruz

( Mall Of Asia, Megamall, North Edsa, Fairview, Southmall, Bacoor, Iloilo and Cebu.)

Dwayne Johnson Anchors “BAYWATCH” With Boundless Personality

Superstar Dwayne Johnson rocks the beach as lifeguard hero Mitch Buchannon in Paramount Pictures' big-screen adaptation ofBaywatch (in Philippine cinemas May 31, 2017).

In Emerald Bay, no one looms larger than legendary lifeguard, Lieutenant Mitch Buchannon. As the leader of the Baywatch team, Mitch has become something of a local folk hero.

Mitch’s singular goal on any given day is to protect his beach and the people who come there to enjoy it,” Johnson explains. “He cares deeply about the people of Emerald Bay and they love him for it, to the point that the locals have created their own mythology around him. ‘Did he create Google?’ ‘Did he help launch the first rocket to the moon, even though he’s in his early forties?’ He’s shrouded in mystery.”

No one else on the planet could have played this role like Dwayne,” says producer Beau Flynn. “I like to think of him as Poseidon, God of the Ocean. He’s so at home in the water, and he fills the screen with the vibe and energy he brings.”

Baywatch is The Avengers of the beach,” Johnson declares. “Everyone is highly proficient at what they do, and has their own area of expertise.”

The film follows devoted lifeguard Mitch Buchannon as he butts heads with a brash new recruit (Zac Efron). Together, they uncover a local criminal plot that threatens the future of the Bay.

Baywatch is just about the most successful television show of all time,” says Johnson. “So I was drawn to the challenge of reintroducing a beloved property to a new audience who might not have grown up with it.”

Obviously, there was a lot about the original show that worked,” he adds. “So we wanted to keep some of the core elements in place while raising the stakes for a feature film. The stunts are bigger, the action is more intense, but we’re not taking ourselves as seriously as the show. We worked hard to find the right balance. As badass as the action in this movie is, we’re all in on the joke. We’re all having fun. We’re laughing with Baywatch, not at Baywatch.”

This summer, Baywatch will provide the world with a refreshing beach getaway, free of sunburns, swimmer’s ear and sand in their shoes. Johnson sums up: “The number one thing you can expect when you see Baywatch is FUN. We’re talking next level, life-changing, filthy, awesome fun. You’re going to laugh your ass off.”

Baywatch is distributed in the Philippines by United International Pictures through Columbia Pictures.
