Ooops! Noah is Gone: Movie Review

By: Matt Suzara

A great flood is coming and the way the animals can survive is by entering a big arc created by Noah. However, Noah is gone and the only way to board the arc is through a list which is handled by the king of the jungle. Nestrians Dave (voiced by Dermot Magennis) and his son, Finny (voiced by Callum Maloney) fails to enter the list so they disguised themselves as grymps. Although the two succeeded to be a part of the voyage, Finny and a grymp named Leah (Ava Connolly) accidentally fall overboard and get left out. Soon, the two must find a way to survive the deadly flood while waiting for their parents to find a way to save them.

Ooops! Noah is Gone is the next featured film for SM Cinema's Family Movie Day, and it will open this coming October 15-16 and 21-22. We attended the advance screening last Saturday, and we really enjoyed the entire film. We wonder why does this film put on a limited screening basis. The film should get a wider release as the jam-packed crowd filled with kids expressed their delight with laughter echoing inside the cinema all throughout.

We really didn't expect much in this film as, we though that its just a simple childish interpretation of Noah's Arc. However, we are wrong as this lively colorful animated flick is full of surprises for the whole family. The characters are unique and easy to love. The story was fast-paced and straight forward yet it is very entertaining. It's a complete package for an animated flick.

Overall, Ooops! Noah is Gone isn't a Disney or a Pixar film but knows exactly what to deliver to its target audience. It will be shown in limited screens, and we highly recommend it for families who wants a decent animated flick to see this upcoming weekend.

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 9 out of 10 stars
