Storks: Movie Review

By: Matt Suzara

For centuries, Storks deliver babies to humans until one stork screw up, and the baby was never delivered to her parents. 18 years later, that baby is now Tulip (Katie Crown) who works with Cornerstone.com, which is the new business for these birds delivering packages instead of babies. Meanwhile, Junior (Andy Samberg) reached a milestone, and his boss Hunter (Kelsey Grammer) offered him to be the next head of the company, but he needs to fire Tulip. However, Tulip is celebrating her 18th birthday, and Junior decided to move her in the letter office instead of firing her. Soon, Tulip received a letter from Nate (Anton Starkman) who badly needs a baby brother. Tulip grants his request and screws everything up for Junior. The two now must find a way to deliver the baby safe before its too late for Junior's promotion.

Storks have an interesting trailer that may easily get your attention because of the cute illustrations of babies. It also looked like an enjoyable animated film that will make the youngsters laugh out loud with its family-friendly theme. However, Storks fail to hit the right formula and give the mature audience something to enjoy. Some of the scenes and jokes are also too deep for the kids to appreciate plus Junior isn't likable enough to make everything work.

If there is one thing to make this film recommendable, it is because of the wolves. The pack really helped a lot in boosting the film in producing the fun and laughter throughout. It would have been much better if they have just focused and changed the title of the film to "Wolves" instead of "Storks." They really stole the show and made us laugh hard whenever they are around to make their gimmicks.

Overall, Storks turns out to be a bit disappointing and fails to deliver the fun intended to its target audience. It had its moments but couldn't capitalize enough and steer the wheel to the right direction. Still, the film might give the youngsters a great time on their trip inside the cinema.
