Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates: Movie Review

By: Matt Suzara

Mike and Dave Stangle (Adam Devine and Zac Efron) have the reputation of destroying every special family occasion and to avoid that from happening in their sister Jeanie's (Sugar Lyn Beard) wedding in Hawaii; their dad urged the two to bring decent wedding dates. To solve the problem easily, they put up an ad on Craigslist and their post went viral. Soon, they meet two high-spirited girls Alice and Tatiana (Anna Kendrick and Aubrey Plaza) who simply wants to have a free vacation. The boys thought they had scored the perfect dates, but they aren't aware about the real deal that comes along with the package.

This R-comedy film may suffer with its thin story line but surely deliver the goods with the help of its likable stars. Well, a lot may focus on Zac Efron and Anna Kendrick, but it was Adam Devine and Aubrey Plaza who mostly stole the show. They made this raunchy comedy flick hilariously good from start to finish. There are some scenes that will really make you laugh hard, and some of it will still stick in your memory even if you are already on your way home.

Some might be offensive, but they manage to handle it with care and dish it out in an enjoyable way. The film is a bit predictable and has a generic structure which may have quite pulled the film down but the energetic stars really sparked up the screen.

If you want a good laugh for you and your friends, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates is the perfect film to catch this weekend. It has Efron, Kendrick, Devine, and Plaza combo that will surely release your stress in an hour and a half stay inside the cinema.

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 8 out of 10 stars
