Precious Cargo: Movie Review

By: Matt Suzara

When Karen (Claire Forlani) failed to finish the job from his brutal crime boss Eddie (Bruce Willis) she turns into finding his ex-lover Jack (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) and asks for his help. To settle the score, they need to pull of a robbery of an armored van containing $30 million worth of diamonds. Soon, Jack assembles his crew to finish the job but might need to be careful with Karen as she might some other plans on her pocket.

Precious Cargo is another lazily made action film that banks in the name of Bruce Willis to spark things up. Well, Mr. Bruce Willis once again plays with his sleepy tone and seems very uninterested on what he is doing while waiting for his paycheck. It's another misfire, especially for those who really want to see a solid action-thriller. It has some peculiar action sequences where-in they are shooting while talking with a lot of bullets just flying around hitting nothing.

The story is also messed-up with most of the twist are nonsense. It is saddled with a lot of old cliche stereotypes we've seen a lot of times already. The casts were alright but was definitely hurt with the bad script. Mark-Paul Gosselaar may have brought a lot of energy packs in him as he seems to enjoy his role and gave everything in his part.  The only thing I really enjoyed is every time I see Jenna B. Kelly on the screen. She is absolutely stunning and gorgeous. And there is Bruce Willis, who does nothing but talk in his cellphone.

Overall, Precious Cargo is quite a disappointment. It is understandable since it is a low-budgeted flick but with Bruce Willis sitting around like a duck; we are just wondering why is he is always settling in this kind of movies. Just lower your expectations and maybe you'll enjoy this one.
