Just The 3 of Us: Movie Review

 By: Matt Suzara

Uno (John Lloyd Cruz) is an airline pilot who just wants to have fun with his life. One drunken evening, he had a casual sex with a random girl inside the bathroom at the club. Three weeks later, that girl turns out to be CJ (Jennylyn Mercado) who claims that she is already pregnant and Uno is the father of her unborn child. However, Uno doesn't believe the story and doesn't want to do anything about the situation. But with CJ's continuous pursual, Uno takes her under his care until they can get a result of a paternal test.

Just The 3 of Us features a very interesting premise with the traditional rom-com formula that Star Cinema is well-known for. Expect that Director Cathy Garcia-Molina will once again bring out the best out of her stars to provide another blockbuster hit. And yes, she made another film with a complete package with a mix of everything to make the whole film entertaining. There are just some minor flaws within the story that made it feel a bit rushed at times.

Bringing in Jennylyn Mercado to team up with John Lloyd Cruz is a bit promising since it is the first time to see this two work together. The two didn't disappoint since they really made their presence felt and had a  pleasing chemistry throughout. They just savor the moment and really get the best out of each other creating a palpable pair.

Overall, Just The 3 of Us gets the job well done in providing another enjoyable rom-com entry from Star Cinema. The pairing between John Lloyd Cruz and Jennylyn Mercado is a success, and I won't mind seeing another film led by these two amazing stars.
