Echorsis: Sabunutan Between Good and Evil - Movie Review

By: Lakwatsera Lovers

Last night is the red carpet screening of the most awaited indie-movie of the year "Echorsis:Sabunutan Between Good and Evil" at SM North Edsa. The film is led by John Lapus, Kean Cipriano and Alex Medina who are all present in the screening promising a one-of-a-kind horror comedy film that will definitely get your attention right from the get go.

Carlo (Alex Medina) is going to be married soon but needs a lot of money because his girlfriend wants a perfect and expensive wedding. In order to afford that Carlo tricks gays and gets money from them. His latest victim is Kristoff (John Lapus), who recently got out of his closet and quickly fell in love with Carlo. Soon, unfortunate things happened and Carlo is possessed by a gay demon. The only hope he could get lies in the hands of Father Nick (Kean Cipriano) who happens to be his childhood friend who also have special feelings for him.

Echorsis is really a fun film as Director Lem Lorca knows how to deliver a solid comedy that will easily entertain its viewers. It also helped that his stars are committed to do crazy things, especially Alex Medina and Kean Cipriano, who simply enjoy their roles. Throwing John "Sweet" Lapus in the mix provides the energy throughout the whole film as he knows how to supply the laughs efficiently. The supporting cast like Kiray Celis, Chokoleit and Alessandra De Rossi added the boost the film needed to spark and generate more laughs to its audiences. However, the story is quite long and messed up but still  manages to bring out a decent material out of it.
Overall, Echorsis: Sabunutan Between Good and Evil has its awesome moments. It is a good stress-reliever comedy film that is worth checking out on the big-screen. The combination of John Lapus, Alex Medina and Kean Cipriano is already worth the price of admission.

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 7.5 out of 10 stars
