Kung Fu Panda 3: Movie Review

By: Lakwatsera Lovers

Po (Jack Black) finally reunites with his long-lost father, Li (Bryan Cranston) who brings him into a secret panda village to meet his kind and live like a Panda. Meanwhile, supernatural villain Kai (J.K. Simmons), plans to steal all the chi of the kung-fu masters in China and wants to face the dragon warrior for an epic showdown. However, Po isn't quite ready yet, and must train hard and learn a new technique in order to save his friends and his new-found family.

Kung Fu Panda 3 is another animated visual treat for the whole family. Po and his gang are back, and now they try to face a new villain who threatens his town. The fun never stops as Jack Black continues to bring life and charisma to Po who easily get the attention of every viewer in the cinema. The visuals are spectacular and best to be seen in 3D, especially if you have kids who love some eye-popping kung-fu action.

What made this franchise successful is because the film has a lot of heart and always teaches some valuable lessons for the kids to appreciate easily. The story is quite over-stuffed like the first two films, but it still managed to pull each thread smoothly. It also never runs-out of good laughs, especially when the Pandas do their routines.

The new characters were a welcome addition. Li and the secret town of pandas was wonderful, with Bryan Cranston and Kate Hudson leading the voices of the new Pandas. J.K. Simmons was great, as we can't trace his voice as Kai, but he sure did the trick in bringing life to the bad-ass villain. While the all-star voice cast sure did contribute a lot, with Jackie Chan, Angelina Jolie, Seth Rogen Lucy Liu and Dustin Hoffman backing-up the energetic Jack Black.

Overall, Kung Fu Panda 3 is a solid animated flick for the entire family. It is already the third entry in this franchise and still got a bunch of dumpling ideas to make the whole thing refreshing and entertaining.

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 9 out of 10 stars
