The Choice: Movie Review

By: Lakwatsera Lovers

Gabby (Teresa Palmer) is a medical student who is ready to settle down with her doctor boyfriend. Until she met her neighbor Travis, (Benjamin Walker) who irritated her one afternoon because of his loud music that interrupts her study. Their first meeting didn't go well, but with the two accidentally keep seeing each other over and over; their feelings developed. Soon, Travis tries to win her over and a fatal accident leaves Travis with a difficult choice.

The Choice is the latest Nicholas Sparks adaptation made for its fans who likes to watch tragic and sappy love story about two people falling in love. Basically, the film gives us another recycled formula coming from the recent adaptations we had from the past few years. Fans will surely get what they want but sadly, you can't feel any emotions to sympathize with the characters.

To be fair, the whole cast had really made the film tolerable. At first, we doubt if Benjamin Walker and Teresa Palmer can share the screen and make their pairing work. We are glad that they did and had a passable chemistry that sustained enough energy throughout. It's just a shame that Alexandra Daddario's talent was sidelined and not put into good use.

Overall, The Choice is a mediocre romantic film that fell a bit short compared to the previous Spark's adaptation "The Longest Ride."
