Jeruzalem: Movie Review

By: Lakwatsera Lovers

Best friends Sarah and Rachel (Danielle Jadelyn and Yael Grobglas) are traveling to Tel Aviv for a summer vacation. Sarah is wearing a Google glass eye wear from his dad who worries a lot with her trip. On the plane way there, they met Kevin (Yon Tumarkin), a young archaeologist who persuades them to come to Jerusalem instead. However, their vacation turns into a nightmare after the prophecy about the gates of hell comes true. The three are now forced to survive the catastrophe in the city and must find their way out before its too late.

Jeruzalem is another found-footage horror film.  It tries to bring the viewers into the beautiful ancient structure of the holy city. It is one of those things you might enjoy while watching this film. However, they didn't maximize the use of their biblical premise to create a thrilling and scary film. The device they used was a great idea but there are still some scenes that are quite difficult to watch because of the shaky camera used. The film also failed to deliver the tension as you won't feel anything while watching it. You also won't even care what would happen to the characters, and you'll get annoyed with their stupid decisions along the way.

Overall, Jeruzalem came out with an innovative idea for found-footage horror. However, they failed to bring in some scares to back their film up. This low-budgeted feature has clear intentions but can't quite to find the rhythm and energy it needs to make it memorable.
