Beauty and the Bestie: Movie Review

By: Lakwatsera Lovers

Erika (Vice Ganda) needs a big money for his nephew because of a complication that may lead to his blindness. His former best friend Emman (Coco Martin) shows up and asked for his help to pretend as Ms. Uzeklovakia in exchange of the money he needed for the medicines and check-up. Erika must pretend and join the beauty pageant as Ms. Uzeklovakia while Emman's Secret Task Force look for the real one who is abducted by the terrorists.

Beauty and the Bestie is far better than the previous Wenn Deramas and Vice Ganda's  "The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin." However, it still has the same formula and brand of comedy that we get from Vice Ganda. Some are funny while others are still corny and used up. We are also fed up with physical comedy that they are doing in the entire film. As for the story, it is silly as before, but we can follow through the humor that they put up into and there are some scenes that really crack us up.

It is good that the cast are pretty much up to the craziness of their material. Coco Martin fares well with Vice Ganda in comedy. The two shines together and blend nicely in their scenes. Nadine Lustre and James Reid are also up to the challenge but didn't get enough time to fully get down with it.

Overall, Beauty and the Bestie is an entertaining film, especially if you are a fan of Vice Ganda and his style of comedy. It is silly yet you can't simply argue that it is also funny at the same time.
