The Professional: Movie Review

By: Lakwatsera Lovers

The film started with Alex (Olga Kurylenko) and his crew pulling off a heist in a bank for a cache of diamonds. However, her disguise was blown off and her face is seen by some of the hostages. Things get a bit messy when they end up having an important flash drive which contains top-secret files of a U.S. Senator (Morgan Freeman). Soon, Alex finds herself in a dangerous cat and mouse chase against  the group of Mr. Washington (James Purefoy) who will do anything to retrieve the drive.

The Professional also known as "Momentum" introduces Olga Kurylenko as a female action heroine. She has the potential to follow the lead of Milla Jovovich. However, the film didn't allow her to maximize her talent and show that she is capable on bringing the house down. The film is pretty interesting with all those action sequences that are entertainingly acceptable but there is no solid story to back it up. The plot is also predictable. It doesn't have an element of surprise and some of the it's dialogues are mostly a bore.

Overall, The Professional is a generic action film which can offer a passable entertainment. With the film setting up a possible sequel in the end; I hope that they can do better as we look forward to see Olga Kurylenko in full-throttle mode.
