Spectre: Movie Review

By: Lakwatsera Lovers

James Bond (Daniel Craig), received a cryptic message coming from the previous M which sends him to a rouge mission in Mexico City. It leads him to uncover a mysterious organization that links every criminal he encountered for the past few years. He soon locates Madeleine Swann (Lea Seydoux), the daughter of his old nemesis Mr. White (Jeper Christensen) and asked for clues about the sinister group known as Spectre.

Spectre marks the 24th film of this franchise. Daniel Craig and Sam Mendes returns to follow up their rampant success in Skyfall. While some named this as the best bond film yet, others might still prefer Skyfall over it. For us, it was another typical James Bond film filled with striking locations, thrilling car chases, stylish action scenes and gorgeous girls that are always a trademark in a James Bond movie.

The opening sequence in Mexico was simply stunning, and we hoped that it could retain that same energy throughout the entire film. However, the film is a tad long and had some snooze fest in the latter parts. Spectre introduces us to a wicked big villain in Christoph Waltz but hardly made an impact because they made him too weak. Daniel Craig still posses the charm of agent 007. He retains the same classic vibe of the character while inducing it his own tactics. The real gem for me would be Lea Seydoux, who looks glamorous every time she is on the screen. She is a perfect choice to be the new Bond girl.

Overall, Spectre isn't spectacular and close enough to be the best bond film in the whole series. It may have the qualities and resemblance from the previous classic installments, but the bar isn't high enough to surpass them all. It is still a treat for the fans and another awesome addition for this epic franchise.

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 7 out of 10 stars
