Cooties:Movie Review

By: Lakwatsera Lovers

When a deadly food virus spread in an elementary school; students went into berserk mode as they turn into zombie creatures. Trying to survive is a group of teachers led by a struggling writer Clint (Elijah Wood). Together, they try to find a way out of the campus and escape the infected children who want a piece of their skin.

Cooties seem pretty interesting in the beginning as the virus spreads among the kids which turned them into zombies. We love these kinds of films, especially whenever zombies is included in its premise. However, Cooties can't take a balance grip within its story as it gets lousier by the minute. It can't seem to figure out what genre it will use because it isn't funny or scary. The only thing we enjoyed is the prosthetic they used to the kids and some decent action sequences. The cast isn't enjoyable either. Elijah Wood enters another picture that clearly isn't the right fit for him. It was just Rainn Wilson, who seems to have an energy to play his role.

Overall Cooties gets repetitive and dull as the movie goes along. It didn't have an acceptable ending either to finish the mess they've started. It just a wasted opportunity because it turned into a dragging zombie flick that should have been an exciting addition to this genre.

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 4 out of 10 stars
