Before We Go: Movie Review

By: Lakwatsera Lovers

The film opened up with Nick (Chris Evans) playing his trumpet at the Grand Central Station. There she met Brooke (Alice Eve) who happens to miss the train to Boston. She lost her purse and doesn't have money left and needs to get back home at 8 am before his husband does. Nick offers some help, and the two began an all-night trip through the streets of New York.

Chris Evans takes a break from saving the world and tries to take a shot in his directorial debut in Before We Go. The premise is quite familiar with two broken hearts eventually cross each other's path. Before We Go is a hit and miss, which would rely heavily with Chris Evans' presence the entire time. The conversations are tolerable enough for us not to get bored while they encounter different situations to make the film longer.

The cast is likable enough as they both contain the charm needed for this mediocre love story. Chris Evans will eventually attract the female audience but didn't quite deliver the depth that his character needed. Alice Eve is an interesting choice, but the script doesn't give her the chance to shine.

Overall, Before We Go didn't quite live up through our expectations. It is a passable walk-through of two people falling in love. Accompanying each other and try to mend their broken hearts. Well, it worked out but the problem is we've already seen this before.

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 4.5 out of 10 stars
