Vacation (2015): Movie Review

By: Lakwatsera Lovers

Vacation is the reboot of the 1983 classic film National Lampoon's Vacation, which starred Chevy Chase. Now, all grown up his son Rusty Griswold (Ed Helms) wants to redo his childhood adventure with his wife (Christina Applegate) and two boys (Skyler GisondSteele Stebbins) and go to Walley World. They embark on the same cross-country adventure and promises that their trip would stand on its own.

The trailer was worth it for a good laugh and yes, watching the entire film gives a lot more of it. We didn't expect that Vacation will be a solid R comedy, and one of the decent ones released for this year. We haven't seen the original yet, but we are already satisfied with the whole new Griswold adventure. The story is pretty generic, but it manages to give a lot of messy scenarios that resulted to a fun-filled theater last night.

The cast is perfect with Ed Helms leading the charge in his expertise in comedy while Christina Applegate injects humor into her character making them a likable couple. Skyler Gisondo and Steele Stebbins also did their homework to be funny and surprisingly Chris Hemsworth had a bag of tricks of his own. Expect a lot of cameos in this film and a special treat for The Walking Dead fans.

Overall, Vacation is an effective stress reliever and the perfect film if you basically want to have some fun. Don't mind the negative ratings and just go and watch it with your friends.
