The Man from U.N.C.L.E. : Movie Review

By: Lakwatsera Lovers

CIA 's Napoleon Solo (Henry Cavill) is sent to East Germany and extract Gaby Teller (Alicia Vikander), an auto mechanic who is the daughter of the imprisoned nuclear scientist. From there he is followed by KGB's Ilya Kuryakin (Armie Hammer) to stop him and after a fancy chase, the two managed to escape the Russian. However, Solo found out that he and Kuryakin are going to be undercover partners in Rome to stop a dangerous organization which is planning to build nuclear weapons and start a catastrophe around the globe.

Before James Bond returns on the big screen in Spectre; we are first treated with Guy Ritchie's revival of the classic  TV series -  The Man from U.N.C.L.E. that aired in the 60s. The film carries a stylish setting which made the whole flick look cool.  The action pieces were done neatly without overdoing it and the actors seems pretty dedicated as they enjoy playing their characters.

Guy Ritchie delivers an engaging spy thriller with a sense of fashion and dropping humor in some scenes to avoid the film to be too serious. He steers the film into right direction while turning on a compilation of classy music to complement the beauty of the entire thing.

Henry Cavill provides the charm as well as Armie Hammer. They are just simply enjoyable to watch from going against each other and forming an unlikely alliance. If Rebecca Ferguson was the gem in Mission Impossible; our eyes sparkled every time we see the gorgeous Alicia Vikander, who looked like a younger version of Penelope Cruz. She is just simply fantastic, and we are looking forward to seeing her more often on the silver screen.

Overall, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. is a pretty slick spy film. It just lacks in depth but with the stylish vibe and charismatic actors it still pretty entertaining throughout. We hope that it would do well in the box-office as we look forward for this film to proceed and start a successful franchise of its own.
