Hitman: Agent 47 Movie Review

By: Lakwatsera Lovers

Agent 47 (Rupert Friend) is an elite genetically-engineered assassin programmed with decades of research to be an ultimate killing machine. His mission is to find the scientist who started the project and stop a wicked group called the Syndicate in making an army of dangerous agents. In the process, he teams up with the scientist's daughter Katia (Hannah Ware) who might be the key to stop this fiasco and finally put an end to plan of the Syndicate.

We are one of those guys who actually enjoy the trailer of Hitman: Agent 47. However, aside from some decent action scenes, there is nothing left for you to see in this messy picture. It is just like the video game where you'll hit the start button to skip the story and go straight ahead to play the game. But still, it is a guilt-free pleasure where in your treated with cool car chases, clean kills and enough firepower to maintain the velocity for 90 minutes.

As for the story, it is just a complete throwaway where a lot of things are happening that doesn't really matter. There are also too many questions left unanswered and plot holes that ruin the entire thing. The actors were good enough with Rupert Friend finding a way to be a worthy replacement for the late Paul Walker. He can meet the demands during the fight scenes but isn't quite interesting when he starts to spill his dialogues.

Overall, Hitman: Agent 47 is a mindless action thriller that serves intense killing techniques to a high amount of body count. It opted to look cool for the whole duration and forgets to make sense with its entire story line. Well, the main agenda of this movie is to keep the viewers entertained while they deliver solid action scenes and for that they might have succeeded.

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 5 out of 10 stars
