Survivor: Movie Review

By: Lakwatsera Lovers

Kate Abbott (Milla Jovovich), is an agent assigned to the visa office of the U.S. embassy in London. She had a gut feel that a man named as Dr. Emil Balan is a part of a terrorist group that can cause havoc when his visa is approved. However, it isn't only the main concern as she is targeted by an assassin known as the Watchmaker (Pierce Brosnan) and also framed her up into a terrorist bombing. Soon, Kate must find a way to prove her innocence and try to stop a bigger terrorist attack.

The poster suggests that this might a solid action flick with Resident Evil renegade Milla Jovovich is pitted against former 007 James Bond in Pierce Brosnan. It supposed to be cool just to see these stars try to get on with each other, but it didn't quite reach the potential we expected. Still, the film is somehow enjoyable; with a fast-paced momentum and a quite minimal thrill during the cat and mouse chase. It wasn't bad as Pierce Brosnan's November Man last year, but we think that he can actually do better than this.

Overall, Survivor had a lot of chances to be a gripping action thriller. However, it chooses to run a generic formula and suffers a lot within its plot holes. It just fails to provide a solid bite but still a passable action film to burn out your excess time.

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 5 out of 10 stars
