Magic Mike XXL: Movie Review

By: Lakwatsera Lovers

We didn't even thought that Steven Soderbergh's male-stripper movie "Magic Mike" would actually have a sequel. When the teaser came out we immediately thought that this film would be an ultimate cash-grab. It also smells more trouble when two of its original cast members (Matthew McConaughey and Alex Pettyfer) didn't sign-up for round-two. But after watching the film last night, we never expected that they still manage to pull it off.

The story picks up three years after the first installment and Mike (Channing Tatum) already quit his stripper life and decided to own a furniture business. However, his old Kings of Tampa buddies want him included in a road-trip and join the annual strippers' convention at Myrtle Beach. The group also wanted to spill  fresh ideas and get out in their generic dance routines. While they meet new people on their way to the convention; Mike and his friends gear up for one explosive performance that will bring the house down.

Magic Mike XXL continues the humor and charm the first film has. Channing Tatum still leads the way with his killer routines that will surely bring down the undies of the girls inside the cinema. They obviously miss the boost coming from Matthew McConaughey and Alex Pettyfer, but it's a good thing that Joe Manganiello has stepped up big time. He knows how to steal the spotlight, and he easily owns the floor. Completing up its front line are Adam Rodriguez, Kevin Nash and Matt Bomer that pretty much did the same trick just like before.

Overall, Magic Mike XXL is really an unnecessary sequel but with crowd going nuts when the guys start to grind; the girls and the fans of Channing Tatum will definitely ask for more. Gender check anyone?
