Final Girl: Movie Review

By: Lakwatsera Lovers

Veronica (Abigail Breslin) is a survivor of a double murder that took the life of her mother and sister. She is recruited by a mysterious organization to become an assassin, and she is trained well by her mentor William (Wes Bentley). After long years of training, Veronica is now ready to take on her assignment: to take down a group of men who hunt and kill young girls in the woods just for fun. Soon, Veronica must use all her skills in order to finish the job but needs to find a way to overcome the odds because she is outnumbered.

The film has an interesting premise, but the execution is just simply ridiculous in every way. The story stumbles a lot along with its time frame and let our skilled assassin to grow up as she trains for many years. However, it seems like she is still undeveloped, weak, and they are just throwing around some unnecessary scenes to make the film longer. The kills and gore are not interesting either and the whole concept is just a complete misfire.

We surely love Abigail Breslin as she is like Chloe Grace Moretz in the making. However, this kind of films wouldn't help her at all. She still made a lot of difference though and provides a lot of energy into the already sinking picture.

Overall, Final Girl is a waste of time and talent. They opted to look cool without digging deep to get a core and interesting story. It is a complete disappointment and a film that doesn't make sense at all.

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 3.5 out of 10 stars
