Tomorrowland: Movie Review

By: Lakwatsera Lovers

Tomorrowland is the latest sci-fi extravaganza brought to us by Disney. It has a promising trailer, a brilliant director and an outstanding cast. However, despite the films' visual grandeur, it struggles to come up with a memorable story as a whole.

We first see Casey Newton (Britt Robertson) released from jail after she got arrested from breaking into a NASA launch site. When she is packing up her belongings, she discovers a strange pin along with her things. When she touches it, she is transported to a mysterious place called "Tomorrowland." However, the pin didn't last long and while Casey tries to search for some answers, she met a little girl named Athena (Raffey Cassidy), the owner of the pin. Soon the two travels and to reach Frank Walker (George Clooney), a former inventor in Tomorrowland to fix an impending meltdown of our planet and change our future.

We can take away that Tomorrowland is a fun film. It is a visually stunning masterpiece with awesome ideas on what the future may look like. The film plays with our imagination and brings us back to our childhood days where-in you wished that you can fly like the birds or have some cool stuffs you dream of. However, all the ideas didn't hold up well and collapses together thanks to its messy plot. It fails to give up a decent story despite a very crafty design. As leads, George Clooney and Britt Robertson make an amusing team-up. Robertson is filled with energy while Clooney provides the serious tone that the film needs. Raffy Cassidy shines as Athena and Hugh Laurie round-up its talented set of actors.

Overall, Tomorrowland is a fun adventure with the most biggest ideas possible. It isn't terrible but with all the potential it has, it ended up a bit disappointing.

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 6 out of 10 stars

I've heard this is the best movie based on a theme park ride ever made. Considering how much money Pirates of the Carribean made that says a lot. I think Thanks for the thumbs up!
