Hot Pursuit: Movie Review

By: Lakwatsera Lovers

Reese Witherspoon is back into comedy teaming up with Sofia Vergara in Hot Pusuit, which opens today in cinemas. The trailer is already a catch and there are some scenes that are really funny. You really don't need to expect too much from this film, and you just need to sit back, relax and enjoy the lead stars do their thing.

Police Officer Cooper (Reese Witherspoon) is stuck behind the desk of the evidence room after accidentally setting an innocent civilian on fire. Her break to redeem herself finally came when she is assigned to escort a witness (Sofia Vergara) to Dallas to testify against a drug kingpin. However, the seemingly easy task went extremely difficult when two masked men arrived and start to hunt them down. Soon, Cooper must protect her witness with all cost and bring her to Dallas in one piece.

Undoubtedly this film had its fun moments throughout. However, some of the best scenes are already can be seen on the trailer. There are a lot more enjoyable scenes, but it's fairly memorable as a whole. Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara lift the film with their pleasing chemistry throughout the entire movie. They are both charming, and we think they did enough to salvage the film away from the drain. Reese Witherspoon put a lot of effort in playing her by-the-book police officer while Sofia Vergara uses her skills to run her mouth for an effective comedy.

Overall, Hot Pursuit is a passable comedy flick good enough to burn 90 minutes. The lead stars are both entertaining to provide the energy the film needed to sustain the momentum throughout.

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 6 out of 10 stars
