While We're Young: Movie Review

By: Lakwatsera Lovers

Noah Baumbach helms the comedy-drama film While We're Young which ensembles a stellar cast led by Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts. They play Josh and Cornelia, a married couple in their mid-40s who still adjusting to their childless family. As their friends started to have a child of their own, the two doesn't seem to mind but deep inside, they are both insecure. Their lives started to change when they met a young couple Jamie and Darby (Adam Driver and Amanda Seyfried), who enjoy their simple life in a positive way. Soon, the older couple begins to enjoy the company of the younger generation, but they didn't realize the hidden agenda beyond their new-found friendship.

The film is plain simple and best enjoyed by looking through the heartfelt performances of its lead stars, especially Ben Stiller. He shows the depth within his emotions and performs well by making his character look so natural. He is complimented well by Naomi Watts presence which made them a likable couple. Adam Driver and Amanda Seyfried also did a great job in bringing the energy into its core. However, the film had some dull moments even the actors are playing it right. It comes to a point that you'll be bored on the simplicity of the film.

Overall,  While We're Young offers a lot on the table, but it may leave a bunch of audience unsatisfied. It sure has a talented cast and director, but it can't seem to please everyone with it.

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 6 out of 10 stars
