Unfinished Business: Movie Review

By: Lakwatsera Lovers

Dan Trunkman (Vince Vaughn) quit his job to start his own business on his terms. He is joined by Timothy McWinters (Tom Wilkinson) an old man who is not quite ready yet for retirement and Mike Pancake (Dave Franco) a shy type witty person who is aiming to land his first job. One year later, their company, Apex Select, finally lands a deal that can launch their company into new heights. All he needs to do is to fly to Portland and shake hands with his client. However, his former boss (Sienna Miller) pitch in into his deal making it difficult for him to close it in his favor.

We watched Unfinished Business thinking that we would experience a decent comedy flick from Vince Vaughn. We enjoyed his last two films (The Internship & Delivery Man) but apparently his new flick is tough to recommend. There are funny moments yes, but it cannot sustain the fun and enjoyment we expected in it. It is lazily written and poorly executed. Some of its joke are painfully unfunny and cliched. The only positive thing in this film is Dave Franco; who is definitely willing to do anything just for the sake of comedy.

Overall, Unfinished Business is a total mess right from the beginning. It mostly feels forced and even Dave Franco's disturbing scenes couldn't save the film from sinking.

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 3 out of 10 stars
