The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water Movie Review

By: Lakwatsera Lovers

First, we would like to thank United International Pictures PH for inviting us last Saturday to the special screening of The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water at SM Megamall. Well, we are excited to see it because we love Spongebob and his crazy friend Patrick. There are a lot of kids wearing their Spongebob shirts and others brought their costumes too. They had the chance to play in some games before the movie and had the chance to win special prizes from different sponsors. We also got cute tumblers and had a photo-op with Spongebob.

Like every ordinary day, Plankton tries another plan to steal the secret krabby patty formula at the Krusty Krab. During the tug of war between Spongebob and Plankton, the secret formula mysteriously disappears creating a havoc at the bikini bottom. With the residents thinking, Spongebob and Plankton stole the formula; the two must find a way to find the real culprit and bring back the formula before its too late.

If you don't know Spongebob well, you might be living under a rock (like Patrick.) Basically, the film brings our beloved main characters out of the water and search for the missing formula. It's fun of course, and we are indeed sure that the fans of this series wouldn't be disappointed especially the little kids. The story is quite simple, and the visuals are far superb in 3D. It is a colorful animation but mixing it up with the live-action sequence feels a bit weird. It's still cute, and the quirkiness is there. However, we would love to see more bonding between Spongebob and Patrick instead of Plankton and Spongebob. It also much better if they made fun with Mr. Squidward for a bit too. Antonio Banderas played well as the pirate villain.

Overall, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water is deliciously entertaining. It is a movie for the whole family to enjoy. It's lovely, fun and enjoyable so don't dare to skip this especially if you're a big fan of Spongebob Square Pants.

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 8 out of 10 stars
