The Rewrite: Movie Review

By: Lakwatsera Lovers

It's nice to see Hugh Grant back on the big screen and plays in what he does best returning into a romantic comedy genre. He is Keith Michaels an Oscar Award Winner screenplay writer for the movie Paradise Misplaced. A lot of people tagged the film as one of their favorite films of all time on their list. Since making that classic, Keith hasn't made anything remarkable lately, and it turns out that his Hollywood career starts to fade out. In order to pay his bills his agent got him a job - as a screen writing professor at a college in Binghamton. At first, Keith isn't serious in teaching his talents, but as he mingles with his students, he soon realizes that he is enjoying his new gig after all.

Hugh Grant is surrounded with a terrific set of cast that blends to his charismatic personality. He is indeed charming at times and portrays his character well. His supporting cast are led by Best Supporting Actor J.K. Simmons (Whiplash) and Marisa Tomei who are both solid throughout the film. The story is easy to follow as you can just simply enjoy Hugh Grant and his gimmicks which he delivers smoothly.

Overall, Rewrite is an engaging flick that is a good to kill your time on a Sunday afternoon. It may not be that original and a bit predictable, but you won't get bored and still be entertained.  Hugh Grant's fans wouldn't be disappointed and probably will ask for more.

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 7 out of 10 stars
