Dragon Nest Warriors' Dawn: Movie Review

By: Lakwatsera Lovers

Thanks to Axinite Digicinema Inc., we are able to attend the special screening of Dragon Nest: Warriors' Dawn last Saturday at SM Megamall. Finally, after a few months of delay, the first of the trilogy of the global video game phenomenon will set to be screened in 3D on March 18.

With the black dragon threatens to wake after a deep slumber, the land of Altera is doomed to its evil power and thousands of beasts who are loyal to its dark force. An unlikely alliance formed between a group of Human and Elves and try to embark on a quest to find the secret hidden road to the dragons' lair and destroy it before it awakens.

The visuals of the film's animation are really impressive. However, the 3D effects might have been overdone a little. The story is simple where it has some Lord of the Rings vibe, especially on the battle part where our heroes battle the beasts. There are also some fun moments that can set the mood of the younger audience who were lively on most of the part, especially on our side of the cinema. The character designs are detailed, which really boosts up the overall quality. However, adults might find it a little tedious especially for those who don't follow the game itself.

Overall, Dragon Nest: Warriors' Dawn achieves its mission to entertain the kids and the people who play the game. It is just only the first of the three-part special in this franchise so if you loved it and excited to see the next one, the guys who brought it here promised to return for the sequel next year.

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 6 out of 10 stars

Directed by: Yufeng Song
