Theory of Everything : Movie Review

By Lakwatsera Lovers

One of this year's Oscar contender for Best Picture, "Theory of Everything" features the life of Stephen Hawking, which is portrayed incredibly by Eddie Redmayne. He is already closing it in order to bag the Best Actor Award against his rival "Mr. Birdman" Michael Keaton.

Stephen Hawking (Eddie Redmayne) got a devastating news which concerns his life. He is diagnosed with a Motor Neurone Disease that basically will destroy his muscle function and will just allow him to live for only two years. Despite his condition, her fellow student Jane Wilde (Felicity Jones) stood by her, and the two start to have a family of their own. They are both struggling to make things work, but together they defy the odds, and Stephen proves that he can still follow the path he always dreamed of.

Eddie Redmayne's performance is simply terrific. You can completely forget that he is just an actor and made you ride a time machine to relieve Stephen Hawking's life. The only problem is sometimes; we can't really seem to understand the lines he is uttering, that basically needs subtitles for you to appreciate. Other than that, a win for Redmayne against Keaton at the Academy Awards really needs to happen. Felicity Jones also is great as Jane Wilde. She is simply astonishing and made the whole process effortless in portraying her role.

Overall, Theory of Everything is a satisfying compelling film thanks to its marvelous lead cast. It has a well crafted storyline that is easy to appreciate and can easily be remembered. We just felt something was missing to make this film an instant classic.
