Feng Shui 2: Movie Review

By: Lakwatsera Lovers

We consider the first film as the best local horror movie came out in cinemas in recent years. I remember that a friend of mine actually hasn't slept in days since she watched it on the big screen. Ten years after, the awaited sequel finally was made with Director Chito S. Roño and Kris Aquino returning to unleash the horror one more time.

The film picks up 10 years after the first owner (Kris Aquino) got her whole family killed by the haunted bagua. The curse continues when Lester (Coco Martin) got a special assignment to steal the bagua at the temple for a big amount of cash. It mysteriously returned to his possession and starts changing his fortune. However, when the diabolical intention of the Chinese lucky charm starts to kill the people around him; Lester must now find a way to stop the curse before the spirit inside become stronger than ever.

The sequel still has the appeal, and the same premise like what the first film has. But it doesn't pull out some memorable death scenes like in what they did on the first one. The scares are also tamer with lotus feet mostly seen on the sidelines and wasn't used enough to put some stress to its audience. However, the film still manages to keep an interesting story with a solid outcome. The cast also did a great performance with Coco Martin providing the spark to lead its stars.

Overall, Feng Shui 2 is still a good horror picture, but it can't really surpass the established uniqueness of the first part.

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 8 out of 10 stars
