Horrible Bosses 2: Movie Review

By: Lakwatsera Lovers

First, we like to thank Warner Brothers Pictures PH for the advance screening tickets of Horrible Bosses 2 at SM Megamall last night. It is one of the movies we are aching to see this November as the first film really blow our heads up from laughing. The sequel is mostly having a lot of negative reviews, and we think it's a bit absurd as the whole cinema went crazy right from the start.

Good friends Nick, Kurt and Dale (Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis and Charlie Day) are trying to open their  company and be their own bosses through their latest product "Shower Buddy." They got a big break when they received a call from a multimillion dollar company that is willing to invest and distribute their product if they could manufacture the thousands of Shower Buddies on time. But after they do, that company ditches their deal, and trio are left inside a deep hole. Soon, to get even with the company's owner (Christoph Waltz), they came out a big plan: to kidnap his cocky son (Chris Pine) and ask ransom money to settle their debt.

Horrible Bosses is a surprise hit in 2011, earning more than $200 million gross receipts so even a sequel is not necessary, part 2 was made. We are not complaining, and we are more than happy enough when we heard about the original cast returning plus two key additions in Chris Pine and Christoph Waltz.

We were right that this film is actually funnier than it looks like. The gags were just kept on rolling as the first scene started. It kept the momentum going and the laughs was pouring on as the audience was left laughing out hard. There some jokes that we find offensive but carried well by the outstanding performance of its cast.

Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis and Charlie Day stick to the formula of the first part that the chemistry between the the three of them feels so natural. The returning supporting cast are enjoyable enough with Jennifer Aniston stealing some of the scenes while Kevin Spacy and Jaime Foxx adds some more fun. We also loved the addition of Chris Pine who technically knows when to deliver some comical relief keeping up with the three leads.

Overall Horrible Bosses 2 will not disappoint, especially when you enjoyed the first film. It is a satisfying comedy sequel that certainly deserves another shot and became a trilogy. It is as hilarious and entertaining as the first one. If you don't find this film funny, well you might consider yourself as one of the saddest person in the world.

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 9 out of 10 stars
