Zombadings 1 Patayin sa Shokot si Remington: Movie Review

Zombadings 1 Patayin sa Shokot si Remington
By: Lakwatsera Lovers

It is another holiday today as we celebrate National Zomba Day.

First I want to thank my cousin for giving us her extra tickets she won in Inquirer Libre page in facebook. Last night was the red carpet premier of Zombadings 1 patayin sa Shokot si Remington at SM Megamall. Before you enter the cinema you'll have a chance to pick a prize.Lucky for us to win a poster and a bag. The stars was present during the event.making the crowd more excited.

Now lets head for the review. This film is a masterpiece which has the total package for entertainment. You'll never get bored from start to finish. The story was brilliant I salute Raymond Lee and Director Jade Castro for a job well done making this as one of the best comedy film this year.

Kudos also to Martin Escudero having that gay role which he handled well. He made us laugh a lot of time mostly with the intimate scene between him and Kerbie Zamora. The supporting cast also gave a lot of laughs, with the likes of Roderick Paulate and Eugene Domingo also gave their comedy tactics.

A great makeup also for the gay zombies which i really like. It is not overrated and the movements was flawless. I hope somebody will make another Filipino zombie movie.

You should watch this film and support our own industry. It will surely entertain you. Applause to our gay community which made our everyday life much happier. And please don't forget to add this in your watch list this week. I guarantee you'll love the movie.

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 5 out of 5 stars a perfect movie to release your stress. Remember that laughter is the best medicine. :)

DVD Review: Quarantine 2 The Terminal

Quarantine 2 : The Terminal
By: Lakwatsera Lovers

Now it's time to make some DVD reviews. I went to Video City last night to rent few DVD's to start our long weekend. I manage to grab Quarantine 2 because it is one of their new releases. We all know that the part one released few years back sucks as the camera angles will make you dizzy with that lousy concept.

Now this movie you'll see more victims, more excitement, more blood sucking zombie like infected people. It is good that they did not make a sequel instead they rebooted the film. Even having a low budget and a lack of stars they still manage to make the film much better than the first one. This will make you stay in your seat even your phone is ringing so you can't miss a scene.

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 4 out of 5 stars I hope they can release 28 Months later and Zombie land 2 much earlier because I am missing this kind of movies these days.

One Day: Movie Review

One Day
By: Lakwatsera Lovers

One classic love story and it all started with One day (July 15, 1988) as Emma (Anne Hathaway) and Dexter (Jim Sturgess) spend their time after their graduation which started a friendship that lasted a lifetime. The story revolves on that same date in every year, they had fights, cherished moments and missed opportunities but soon they realize what they were searching was there all along.

Although the story was nice the dialogs was not clear that makes the film boring. In the first part of the movie it lacked in scenes that will make its audiences crave what will happen next. I think it needed more spark to catch the hearts of the viewers.

I hate to say this but One Day failed us to give what we were expecting and I think we just wasted not One Day but 1 hr and 47 minutes of our life.

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 2 out of 5 stars I was hoping for some romantic moments in the flick but it just made me scratch my head after.

* On location in Scotland, Anne Hathaway exposed her bottom to Jim Sturgess to set the mood for filming the skinny dipping scene. Though doing it in such a position as to avoid being filmed by the crew, she did not anticipate the presence of several cell-phone-wielding residents of the residential complex behind her. Surprisingly, as of August 2011, this footage has not been posted on the Internet, and Hathaway says she is grateful that the residents had the "class" to refrain from doing so.

Colombiana: Movie Review

By: Lakwatsera Lovers

First thank you to Lazerxtreme Laser Tag for the two tickets we won  in their facebook page. Vengeance is indeed beautiful, the character of Cataleya I think I compare with Evelyn Salt. The plot is so simple yet its enjoyable and it never had a dull moment.

The movie started with a fast paced action with a young girl running away from a group of mobsters who killed her mother and father. Growing up she wanted to be an assassin to avenge the death of her love ones. She started to hunt down different outlaws to find the killers of her family. She has a lot of skills and weapons to be the perfect hot chick assassin. Zoe Saldana is so sexy that she will fulfill your fantasy to complete your awesome viewing experience. I love the movie it is one of the best action film released this year.

The movie is R-13 and will open today in cinemas released by Viva International Pictures Colombiana will give way to your craving of a nonstop action flick.

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 4 out of 5 stars forget about the dull poster and title just watch it in the big screen.

Cast includes Michael Bartan, Lennie James, Cliff Curtis, Jordi Molla, Callum Blue and Amandla Sternberg

Cars 2 : Movie Review

Cars 2
By: Lakwatsera Lovers

Finally after a long wait the Philippine release of Cars 2 is set today at your favorite cinemas. After a lot of negative reviews from critics, I think that Cars 2 still manage to entertain its audiences. More talking automobiles, ships and airplanes were added. But the story revolves more on Mater the best friend of Lightning McQueen which was still good as the story goes on you'll get some important lessons that can be learned specially with friendship. And if you missed the gang of Toy Story you'll see them in the opening having a short skit titled Hawaiian Vacation.

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 3 out of 5 stars still it is a very entertaining movie forget the critics just watch the movie and decide for yourself.

Star race car Lightning McQueen and his pal Mater head overseas to compete in the World Grand Prix race. But the road to the championship becomes rocky as Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage.
Cars 2 is also available in 3D and IMAX. Kids will enjoy the fast paced visuals of Lightning Mcqueen and company.

Featuring the voices of Owen Wilson, Larry the Cable Guy, Michael Caine, Emily Mortimer, John Turturro and Bonnie Hunt.

* Finn McMissile is a stylized Aston Martin DB5, James Bond's trademark vehicle. (According to 'James Bond Vehicles' by John Cork and Collin Stutz, it never carried missiles, though. The Goldfinger version had machine guns where McMissile has his missiles.)

* In the Paris scenes, a rooftop sign is visible in the distance, for a restaurant called "Gastow's". The restaurant and sign are a parody of "Gusteau's," the restaurant that is the main setting of Pixar's, Ratatouille.

* The Radiator Springs drive-in movie theatre is playing "The Incredimobiles", referencing one of Pixar's other movies, "The Incredibles"

Tween Academy class of 2012: Movie Review

Tween Academy class of 2012
By: Lakwatsera Lovers

First thank you to our friend Rika Ermina for giving her tickets she won on SM Megamall twitter page. Last night is the most jam packed premier night we attended. We fall in line 5:15 pm others are early as 1 pm for them to have a good place for them to see the stars on the red carpet. A lot of fans had their cheers and banners for their favorite tween star. Even a 75 year old granny was with us in the line just to have a glimpse of the talented young stars. It was 8:30 pm when we got away with the guard holding his position in the entrance.

The movie was great I am a Barbie Forteza fan and now I also like Bea Binene. They both blossom in this movie being the least popular in their school along with Elmo Magalona they started to make a list on how they can change their status in the eyes of their batch mates. A lot of teens in  high school can relate in the characters that deals with problems and joys. Many scenes will make the audiences feel the "kilig" moments and there are also some big stars and Azkal players made their cameo roles in some of the scenes. Basically these is a teen movie but it can also be your movie if you feel like reminiscing your high school days. Director Mark Reyes made a perfect story for the stars making it sweet and simple for everyone. And if you are a Julielmo fan stay until the end of the credits as they play the teaser trailer of the valentine movie of the two set to be released next year.

Lakwatsera Lovers Rates it 5 out of 5 stars I am now waiting for the sequel Tween Academy II:Musicale

Casts includes Barbie Forteza, Joshua Dionisio, Bea Binene, Jhake Vargas, Louise Delos Reyes, Alden Richards, Lexi Fernandez, Derrick Monasterio, Kristoffer Martin, Joyce Ching, Yassi Pressman and Elmo Magalona.

Final Destination 5 : Movie Review

Final Destination 5
By:Lakwatsera Lovers

This is one of my favorite horror thriller movie franchise. 11 years after the first one you'll witness the movie in 3D. More blood more unexpected deaths and a complete twist in the end.

Death will not be cheated as one by one death will hunt each of the remaining survivors but in the most morbid way that you can expect. After failing me with the last two Final Destination films ( the roller coaster and the race track ) this brings the franchise back to life with more sick ideas and much brutal ways on how the characters will die.

If you are indeed a fan, the end part will blow your mind away. I don't want to give you the spoiler part but you can relate in what I am talking about if you already watched the previous installments. For the fans of this movie it is a must see for all of you. You will not get disappointed as you can enjoy crazy deaths twice.

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 4 out of 5 stars I will not be surprised if Final Destination 6 comes up after a couple of years.

Casts: Nicholas D'Agosto,Emma Bell,Miles Fisher,Ellen Wroe,Jacqueline MacInnes Wood,P.J. Byrne,Arlen Escarpeta,David Koechner,Courtney Vance and Tony Todd

* Many of the main characters are named after famous horror directors and cast: Peter Friedkin is named after The Exorcist director William Friedkin; Candice Hooper is named after Tobe Hooper who directed _The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)_ and Poltergeist; and Olivia Castle is named after Nick Castle who portrayed Michael Myers in his costume in Halloween.

* It's been confirmed that the DVD will have two alternate deaths.

Conan the Barbarian: Movie Review

Conan the Barbarian
by: Lakwatsera Lovers

Conan was born in a battlefield and in his childhood he is considered as one of the fiercest in his tribe. The movie was mostly sword fights with lots of blood scattered everywhere and body parts like heads, arms and limbs are dismantled by swords.

The story is so predictable with a simple storyline but I like the fact that it has the nonstop action sequence from start to finish. You will never get bored watching this because of the fight scenes but if you are not a fan of bloody type flick I advise that you should watch another movie instead.

I just disliked the sound effects specially the voices of the cannibals and the sand creatures that sounds like a monster but it sounds the same.

Overall I did not like it much but due to a high volume of  kill count, I still recommend that you put this on your list this weekend.

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it 3 out of 5 stars, I think it's better to watch it without the 3D glasses because the effects is not that great.

Cast includes Jason Momoa, Stephen Lang, Rachel Norris, Ron Perlman, Rose McGowan, Bob Sapp, Leo Howard, Steven O'Donnell, Nonso Anozie, Raad Rawl, Said Taqhmaouie

* Mickey Rourke was in talks to play Corin, Conan's father, but turned it down to do Immortals. Dolph Lundgren was also considered before Ron Perlman was cast.

* Kellan Lutz and Jared Padalecki were considered for the lead, but the role went to Jason Momoa.

The Beaver: Movie Review

The Beaver
By: Lakwatsera Lovers

A trouble husband and executive adopted a beaver puppet as his sole means of communicating. Well I don't like movies with a lot of talkies but we still decided to watch this.

Mel Gibson shines here as he talks with everybody by the puppet beaver. He is magnificent in this role especially in the part when he is arguing with the puppet making two voices and accents at one time.

But the movie is about depression and I am quite bored as the story goes on. Still it has moral values to be learned. Sad to say it entered the Yahoo list The 10 Biggest Movie Flops of 2011 so far".

Lakwatsera Lovers rates it  2 out of 5 stars , it is a little bit boring just wait it to hit the video stores if you still want to watch it.

* Jim Carrey and Steve Carell were previously attached to play the lead character.

* Before Summit Entertainment settled for a release date in Spring 2011, this film had been shelved due to Mel Gibson allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva.

Ang Babae sa Septic Tank: Movie Review

Ang Babae sa Septic Tank: Movie Review
By: Lakwatsera Lovers

A lot of positive reviews, feedback and gossips we've heard about the movie this past week. So we decided to watch it last night and see it for ourselves.

The concept of the story was great, a young group of indie film makers decided to do a film titled "walang-wala" and rule an international film festival with the concept of showing the side of poverty in our country. People living in dumpsters, eating one pack of instant noodles for a hungry family and the desperation of a mother to sell her child to a pedophile in order to get money to feed her remaining children. Which I think is happening in real life.

This is the only Indie film I watched that has a mix of comedy and musical. Eugene Domingo gave a lot of  natural comedy straight from her box to win the Best Actress for Cinemalaya this year. Kudos also to Marlon Rivera and Chris Martinez for winning Best Director and Best Screenplay respectively. Those guys did a very good job and I hope they make more movies like this.

Lakwatsera Lovers Rates it 4 out 5 stars don't let yourself be the only one left who didn't watch this movie.

Crazy, Stupid, Love: Movie Review

Crazy, Stupid, Love
By: Lakwatsera Lovers

A sensational crazy film that will inspire audiences, it is also funny and very touching. It has a lot of twist, relationship and love problems that will make you stay on your seat and hold your pee until the end of the film. The powerful casts made a huge impact settling their roles making Crazy, Stupid, Love the best romantic comedy flick this year in my opinion.

Cal (Steve Carell) and Emily (Julianne Moore) is in a restaurant thinking what to order when Emily said that she wanted a divorce. Making Cal so depressed he was always in a bar sipping for a drink where he met the womanizer bachelor Jacob (Ryan Gosling) who is determined to teach him how to score with women

Basically there are a lot of plots in the story to give one your full concentration. A lot of twist between the characters it is very amusing, brilliant and marvelous film you should watch next week. Crazy, Stupid, Love is distributed by Warner Brothers Philippines and will be on cinemas on August 17.

Lakwatsera Lovers Rates it 5 out of 5 stars best way release your stress by watching this film.

Other casts includes Emma Stone, Kevin Bacon,Jonah Bobo, Analeigh Tipton and Marissa Tomei.

* Emma Stone's character Hannah and Liza Lapira's character Liz make several comments about how Hannah's life is very PG-13. The movie is, in fact, rated PG-13.

* The feature film debut of Josh Groban.

Cowboy and Aliens Movie Review

Cowboys and Aliens
By: Lakwatsera Lovers

Indiana Jones meets James Bond, Cowboy and Aliens is really an action packed movie. Harrison Ford still had a lot of skills even he is already 69 years old keeping up with Daniel Craig.

Based on the comic book series from Platinum Studios, It will entertain the viewers in such a classic western era. The story is predictable but the mash-up mix between the battle of cowboys and aliens is pretty good, and to add another flavor mix, some dessert bandits and a lot of Indians was hooked up to make a royal rumble match against the aliens.

We rate it 4 out of 5 stars, a worth to watch movie in the big screen.

It is Rated Pg-13, United International Pictures and Solar Entertainment Corporation will release the film on Wednesday August 10,2011 and it will be also available in IMAX

Cast also includes Olivia Wilde, Sam Rockwell, Adam Beach, Paul Dano, Noah Ringer and Abigail Spencer.

* Robert Downey Jr. was set to play Jake Lonergan, but dropped out due to scheduling conflicts.

* Daniel Craig recommended Eva Green for the role of Ella after working with her in Casino Royale. However, Eva turned the role down and Olivia Wilde was cast.

* The filmmakers cite Alien and Predator as an influence on the look of aliens in the film.

Yesterday is the Press launch of Ara Vista Village held on Johnny Rockets Tomas Morato. Lucky for Matt he was one of the winners of the meet and greet Cristine Reyes and Johnny Rockets GC's from Ara Vista Village. Since he has work I was the one who attended it. I enjoyed it and met Cristine Reyes again for the 2nd time.

Ara Vista is a 50-hectare premium development by Picar Development Inc. that is located at General Trias Cavite. Nestled in a prime location that is only 60-90 minutes away from Makati Commercial Business District and only a stone's throw away to the second summer capital of the Philippines, Tagaytay City.

Ara Vista is under the umbrella of AMA group of companies. A village that has a multiple leisure for all occupants has a wifi access all around the village and a certified high-tech but eco friendly village.

It also has a lowest rate rent to own in 2 years. They already started selling in 100% fully developed village that families can occupy ASAP.

Ara Vista Village also has a 24 hrs security, surrounded by permitted wall, the elevation is high, and has a lot of water drainage to prevent flooding.Compared to others Ara Vista is a low-cost village and it is very accessible.

Revenge of the College Ghost: Movie Review

Revenge of the College Ghost
By: Lakwatsera Lovers

This movie was originally released in 2009 and the original title for this movie based on is Forget me not. I am a big fan of horror, gore, suspense and thriller movies but in this film I just don't get any sense about the ghost thing. The story is so pathetic and messed up, the only good thing is the looks of the ghost or zombie like creatures that is shaking around like sadako. All I can say is, it is not a worth of your time to watch this.

It's graduation weekend, and Sandy Channing, the popular class president of her small-town high school, should be enjoying the time of her life. But when her friends start disappearing, Sandy discovers they have unwittingly awakened the vengeful spirit of a girl they wronged long ago. Fighting for her sanity, Sandy must unlock a dark secret from her own past before it's too late.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes: Movie Review

Rise of the Planet of the Apes: Movie Review
By: Lakwatsera Lovers

First, Thank you to SM Cinema for the tickets we won on their Facebook Page. The Press Screening was held last night at SM Megamall cinema 6. A lot of press people and fellow bloggers were present during the screening.

The movie was fantastic rebooting it making the film way much better than the original. The visuals were great as if you are watching real apes climbing and running at the golden gate bridge. Academy Award-winning visual effects house WETA Digital has created computer generated apes, they used the same technology when they made Avatar. It was so realistic, the role of Caesar the first intelligent ape captured our attention because of his brilliant human like character. We love the part when Caesar lead all the apes to escape and fight for freedom, also the scene when the big gorilla saved Caesar and jumped over the bridge to stop the helicopter. Overall the movie was action packed, emotional and outstanding.

Casts includes James Franco, Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Brian Cox, Tom Felton and  David Oyelowo

* The name of Tom Felton's character Dodge Landon is a reference to the Dodge (Jeff Burton) and Landon (Robert Gunner), Colonel Taylor's (Charlton Heston) fellow astronauts in Planet of the Apes.
